The Persimmon
THE KING OF THE KAKIS
PERSIMON® is the trademark registered by the Kaki Ribera del Xúquer Designation of Origin to identify the ‘Rojo Brillante’ (Brilliant Red) variety of kaki which, when it is ripe, is firm like a peach. It can be eaten with or without the skin and is easy to cut and peel.
It has an exquisite taste. The fruit is seedless, crunchy and sweet. Its firm flesh and orangey colour make it an excellent alternative in salads, desserts, stews and jams.
Its characteristic flavour is easily recognisable and completely unlike that of any other fruit.
Its shiny firm skin is similar in colour to an orange. The blemishes and marks on its skin are caused by the branches and leaves rubbing against the fruit. They are completely normal and do not affect the fruit’s quality.
Production
